DENVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

You guys.  Denver is the city of Brunch:

This little gem is called Jelly, and even though the air conditioning was broken we had some of the best hashes of the tour.

Old-school cereal boxes lining the walls!

Bottomless mimosas (and a cider for yours truly):

Fresh made doughnut holes?  Check.

HARVEST HASH!!!  Brussel sprouts and root veggies with over easy eggs.  Heaven.

I've done a lot of eating in this town.  First brunch, then a Mexican dinner:

I promise this whole post will not be about food.  I can't help myself, though... we travel and eat at amazing restaurants on a weekly basis.  Its a fat-kid's dream and I have fat-kid mentality when it comes to brunch.  And lunch.  And dinner.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Brunch once again, but this time its MY BIRTHDAY.

That's right, bitches.  Momma's twenty-ggsoitgjskfv years old.

My show-hubby, Brad, lookin' cute as a button:

CAPTION CONTEST:

We brunched at Snooze, a local eatery with the BEST PANCAKES ON THE PLANET.  Thus far.

Smiling ear-to-ear with miss Lizzie:

Birthday pedicure!

Alex and Jonathan waiting for our table:

Menu:

Twelve people came out to help me celebrate with eggs and french toast:

I have made some wonderful friends on this tour.  I know a bunch doesn't seem like much, but it meant a lot to me that they all took the time to come out and celebrate.

Here's Miguel, Ray, and Roland:

Tom, Jonathan, and Robbie:

And now, the Calvin Klein photos begin!
(For those who are out of the loop: A Calvin Klein photo means no smiling, and no looking at the camera.  Hilarity ensues.)

Alex, Christy, and Cameron (making the best face EVER):

Our table's Calvin (Alex, Christy, Cameron, me, Lizzie and Brad):

Sweets round arrives: Sticky bun french toast, and a pancake flight (sweet potato, pineapple upside down cake, and blueberry).

Miguel, Ray, and Roland's bloody mary Calvin Klein:

You-Pick-Two version of Eggs Benedict!  I went with the Del Mar (lemony-licious with asparagus and crab meat) and the Harvest Benny (white bean hummus, mixed veggies and such):

Birthday pancake of the day!!  Oreo-stuffed Chocolate Chip pancake.  Basically, crack.

Some candle shots:

The birthday suit (the other one):

After so much excitement, I wasn't really hungry for dinner by the time our half-hour call came around. Instead of a full dinner, I opted for the Apples and Veggie smoothie from Jamba Juice:

Looks nasty, but tastes pretty amazing.

Once backstage, I had a happy surprise waiting from my parents:

As well as an announcement for the rest of my evening:

Blake provided a tear-worthy birthday spread in the green room:

Blake, who plays Fester, is one of the kindest, most generous, professional people I've ever worked with.  Plus, he's hilarious and gave me the cutest nickname:

Fresh cut fruit and Hershey's Hugs to round out the spread:

Christy also surprised me with a little gift:

Held together by medical tape, which I thought was genius:

And who doesn't love nail art?!

After the show, we headed out for a bit of comida and karaoke.  There was food and drink, but unfortunately the disorganized karaoke setup left us all out of the loop.  Only three people from our group got to sing in three hours!  Still, I was shocked by how many people came out to help me celebrate:

Sara and I reacting to some of the WORST karaoke we've ever seen:

I still can't believe all those people were up there squawking while we were in the bleachers twiddling our thumbs.

Even my darling Blake came out for the festivities!!  This is an honor indeed, for he's usually home and taking care of his voice after a show.  He sang Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" and was, of course, and instant crowd favorite:

Less of a crowd favorite were the extremely drunk (and sweaty) men running through the bar shouting along with every tune.  The one in glasses was one of three birthdays additional to my own, and easily one of the most jovial.  Right as I got up to leave, they cornered me with birthday wishes and lots of questions.  Needless to say, I whipped out the monocle of truth:

Aside from the crazy Karaoke evening, and even during, I had a wonderful birthday.  My cast made me feel so special and loved; I couldn't possibly ask for more.  Plus, my friends from home blew up my Facebook page to the point where I had to turn the ringer off on my phone in fear of arrest for disturbing the peace.  I love each and every one of you.  Thank you for the time you took to make me day as special as it was.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday, bright and early, we donned our show T's and headed to Coor's Field to sing the national anthem for the Colorado Rockies game.  Since they were playing the Washington Nationals, Brad arrived in full gear:

Tiffany was pouting cause she couldn't come along:

Some more shots from the day:

Sunblock champions!!

The gang with... uh... the big purple mascot?

Unfortunately for Brad, the Rockies pulled through and won the game.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------

Denver marked yet another mural city.  This one has to be my favorite thus far...

Since we were at a mile-high altitude, the theatre kept oxygen tanks on either side of the stage in case someone got lightheaded.  Perfect fodder for my crazy little mind:

Who better than Grandma to be suckin' down the juice?

Tank detail:

Peeling wallpaper and cracks in the wall:

Signed by the company:

Definitely the best one yet - closest to our poster design, yet connected to the city.  So happy with it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Random, but doesn't this kind of look like hanging glass potatoes?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Birthday Club, you're responsible for getting cake and candles for the birthday directly after your own.  Karla was up next on June 30th!

She wanted either a cookie cake or an ice cream cake, but since neither one was available I got her a chipwich station:

Lots of balloons:

Blowing out the candles!

Later on that evening, Karla invited us out for drinks and nosh to celebrate her 27th year.  In preparation, Lynne and I started working on a design for my hair for Jess's wedding.  This was her incarnation:

The rest of the pictures from Karla's party are of me with my attempt at re-creating her design (with a whole lot of her help).

Alex with a bubbling concoction complete with dry ice:

 Birthday girl!!

Anthony, my love:

HAIR:

Ray, who is awesome:

Serving you Mad Men:

Peanut and I, enjoying our week as roomies and fashionistas:

Ritter in blue:

Aside from Ritter's vampire eyes, we all look pretty darn good:

Once we got home, I had Alex take some shots of my hair so I could remember what I did and practice:

Not bad, huh?

Not the longest post I've ever written, but certainly full enough.  Tomorrow we head off to Kansas City and the Starlight theatre, which is OUTDOORS.  That's right, friends.  102 degree weather and we'll be dancing our asses off in the steam.  Pray for us all.
