Here we are again: You, left behind in the dust. Me, apologetic but still extremely busy. Let's catch you up, shall we?
Baltimore was two long weeks in a scary city. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed myself; Baltimore has great food and the audiences were very generous. Still, there were an awful lot of moments that reminded me of The Wire.
One moment in particular reminded me of a famous TV show, but this one wasn't about gang violence. This one was about a kooky family... a familiar family... a family I'm a part of...
John Astin, the original Gomez!
A Baltimore native, Mr. Astin is a frequent theatre patron of the Hippodrome. He was kind enough to pose for pictures and talk with us for a while.
Here are the two Gomez's at last:
He's still got it.

Baltimore marked a milestone for our cast - our six-month contracts ended. With that pivotal change, we lost two members of our family: Rebecca and Jason (my sweet little boyfriend). On Thursday, we took Becky out for a night of debauchery and drinks. My lime-green shirt needed an extra special make-up:
Bryant Yee, people. The man is an artist:
Here are just a few pictures of our evening:

Saturday morning I woke up (really, really early) and met my darling Aaron Libby for breakfast. His cruise ship docked once or twice a month in Baltimore, and we just so happened to be there at the same time. Clearly some Syracuse reminiscing was in store.
We dined at Miss Shirley's, a fabulous restaurant with a wide variety of down-home delicious options and Old Bay on every table:
Aaron had the Chicken and Waffles (OMG):
I created a broccoli/spinach/avocado omelet:
The couple sitting directly to my left ordered the Monkey Bread (something Aaron and I had debating trying). They also had tickets to see The Addams Family that afternoon. After a few chuckles and questions about the show, they offered us each a plateful of sweet, cinnamon crusted Monkey Bread:
My job: PERKS GALORE.
I miss him already, but who knows? Maybe he'll book a job that intersects my route again.
------------------------------------------------------------
Only slightly less early Sunday morning, I met my brother, sister-in-law, and niece for breakfast at Teavolve: a tea-centered restaurant just past the harbor. Erica's bloody mary was much bigger than expected:
Stelly's eggs and toast was almost as awesome as her Hungry Caterpillar book:
With more energy than the three of us combined, Stella pranced around the restaurant, exploring every possible crevice. Her favorite spot was a comfy chair by the front windows:
After eating, we took Stella to the water to see the ducks. Big hit.
After the ducks, they dropped me at the theatre and I took Stella around to meet everyone. She charmed them all, one by one, of course.

Here's the cast for Becky's last show:
I painted a pearl necklace for the occasion:
And the ladies had a champagne toast:
I miss Becky already. She was one of those people you treasure in a show: level-headed, but still easy to talk to and fun to be around. Plus, she was outstanding on stage. Yup, we miss her. For sure.

After the show Sunday night, a bunch of us piled into the car and drove home to New York for our day off. I had a full day planned, and I wasn't about to leave my leather jacket home:
I went to the mall and ran some errands with Momma Huston, then headed into the city for dinner with my dear, dear friends, Rebecca (Pearls) and Jenna (J-barbz). We ate at Ruby Foo's and enjoyed a fair amount of nostalgia and champagne:
Here's Pearls with the fruit options: Lychee, peach and blood orange juices.
The finished product:
AND CHRIS!!! My favorite bartender:
So tender. So lovely to be there and not serving.
After dinner, Pearls and I went back to our apartment to wait for my dad to pick me up. Sometimes all you need is a few hours with good friends to make you feel refreshed and ready to carry on:

Brad's episode of the Newlywed Game finally aired on GSN!
Here he is with his wife, Happy:
And here he is with his wife, Happy, winning the game!!!!!!
A SECOND HONEYMOON!!!! Hooray for Brad and Happy!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The following Saturday, I went on for Alice both shows. Every time I look at my jewelry box for the show, I'm reminded of the woman who originated the role:
Daunting, no? Maybe its the name of the fake pearl company...
I sent Becky a little picture message to remind her that we missed her:
(The piggie was part of her opening night present to the cast.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Between shows, the roomies and I went for CRAB CAKES. Oh mother, were they good:
Then Josh showed me a strikingly familiar t-shirt he found:
My brother, his wife, my friend Brian and HIS wife all came to see my second performance that evening:
Brian, like me, is a big fan of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Dougie, being the awesome guy he is, agreed to pose for an unusual photo:
Remember?
The next evening, my OTHER friend Brian stopped by for the show. He and I haven't seen each other since we did an Arts competition together ten years ago:
Some things never change. He's still awesome, and I still wear green and love Peanuts comics. Its a win-win.
--------------------------------------------------------------
March 23rd was Momma Huston's birthday!!! I made her a little present. I'll post it in a separate entry later, cause it takes a while to upload.
--------------------------------------------------------------
From Baltimore, we traveled to Providence, where I shared a room with Cortney (our Wednesday) and her dog, Tiffany:
I meant to take lots of pictures of the hotel because it was GORGEOUS, but I kept forgetting to bring my phone to the gym (which had a great view into the lobby and elevator area). There was an old school mail drop:
And apparently that's all I've got. Lame sauce.
---------------------------------------------------------------
People like roof parties in NYC. In Providence, they seem to enjoy windowsill parties:
Here's a better shot of Miss Tiffany relaxing:
And rooting through mommy's suitcases:
Providence was also another mural city. Tired of the same designs over and over, I decided to go with a kind of emo-anime version of Wednesday I found while searching Google:
I doctored it a bit to have our costume and hair (the original had a belted dress and the signature braids).
Michaels had a distressed paint that looked like crackle nail polish when it dried. I used it as a border:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday night marked our 200th show!
---------------------------------------------------------------
The walk home from the theatre took me by a lot of adorable shops and restaurants, as well as a window set full of creatures:
They're all costumes, but I have no idea what they're for. There was a poster advertising a Creature Show, but these looked like they'd been sitting there for a long time:
CRAZY. So cool.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Last show of the week, last pictures of the mural:
After the Sunday night performance, we gathered in Geo's room for Catchphrase. This was the best one of the evening:
"Whisker Lickins?" Seriously?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Today we flew to Cincinnati, and boy were the dogs tired:
Its been a long day and I sure could use some shut-eye. I'll try to be better about keeping you posted, but lets be honest: sometimes its pretty busy out here. Love you all!
